“i-Boat was purely made by the local students. And it was created as one solutions to help certain issues during this unprecedented crisis, ” the Rector of ITS Prof Dr Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng said while introducing the smart boat on Tuesday (29/9/2020).

The Prof also said that without a pilot this boat will be more effective since it could be operated in any weather even if there is a storm ahead. So, if there is any accident happens in the sea, the boat could go first as a first action to respond those people in trouble.

Mohamad Cholil, Director of Operations at the Indonesian Classification Bureau said that the boat could go for more than 10 KM from the dock. The crew controls it from the base with an app that shows the route so the boat could go and back to the dock by itself.
